Steven Shakhnevich
Steven began his career in 1999 as a paralegal at the Law Firm of Sherman and Basichas. There he was involved in every aspect of personal injury and medical malpractice litigation, from inception to trial. One year after graduating from Delaware Law School in 2006, Steve began his law practice focusing on personal injury and real estate litigation. For two decades, Shakhnevich Law Group has evolved into a trusted staple in South Brooklyn helping thousands of injured clients recover compensation. ​

Martha Tabachnikova
Martha began her career in 2005 as a paralegal in the law offices of Sherman and Basichas. She graduated from New England School of Law in 2011 and began her legal career at a manhattan insurance defense firm. Since then she has been practicing in the area of personal injury and workers compensation on behalf of injured plaintiffs in the New York and New Jersey Courts. Martha joined Shakhnevich Law Group in 2015 and for more than a decade has become an intergral part of the law firms success recovering millions in compensation for our clients.

Jaclyn Gurevich
Jaclyn was recently admitted to the practice of law in 2026 in the state of New York. She began her legal career in 2021 while working at Shakhnevich Law Group as a paralegal. She then went on to study at New York Law School. While attending law school, she interned at the Office of Child and Family Services, Bureau of Special Hearings. Throughout her time at Shakhnevich Law Group, Jaclyn had maintained different positions starting from paralegal to Associate. She has been involved in all stages of personal injury cases as both a paralegal and an attorney.
